Is the engine new? It says new, with 400 hours, then it says risers and manifolds changed in '06. What year is the engine. FWIW, New = never used. Its a beautiful boat, well maintained.

Duly noted. I'll change the ad.

I think of it as new, since it's not the original engine. The original engine was a 5.0 Gi Volvo that was replaced under warranty at 500 hours by a professional mechanic. We decided to move up to a new 2003 5.7 Gi FWC and are glad we did.

Weight with trailer and motor is right around 7000# plus or minus, I believe.

I tow it with a 2002 Toyota Tundra 4x4, and don't have any problems.

Here some specs from the Albemarle website (it's for the 248, but they're very similar)

Length 23’7” (7.19 m)
Length with pulpit: 25’1” ( 7.65 m)
Beam: 8’0” (2.44 m)
Draft: 30” (.76 m)
Dry Weight: 5,100 lbs
(2313.32 kg)
Deadrise: 24 degrees
Fuel Capacity: 118 gal. (444.68 L)
Fuel Range: 243-255 NM
Transom Fishbox: 40 gal. (151.42 L)
Water capacity: 8.5 gal. (32.18 L)
Livewell: 20 gal. (75.71 L)
Power Single Jackshaft

Thanks for the compliments. The ride on this rig has to be felt to be appreciated.
With the 24 degree deadrise and the engine in the middle, it feels like there's nothing it can't handle.

On a really snotty day, I like to speed up and get it on top of the waves. Truly amazing. There's absolutely NO pounding or hard re-entries on this hull.

Hurricanes- the original motor overheated (faulty impeller) and the mechanic believes it hydrolocked when I tried restart. I bit the bullet and put the 5.7 Gi in. I feel like this is the motor that should come on them from the factory.

I swear the 5.7 is more economical than the 5.0 L. I think it doesn't have to work as hard. I put 100 hours on her last season and only filled it up in the spring and early winter.

Anyone interested in a super clean Albemarle 24 with low hours?

Default RE: 1999 ALBEMARLE 247 - R E D U C E D $36,950

Right now the boat is having a complete outdrive reseal done by a certified Volvo mechanic. Bellows are being replaced as well.

This boat is in excellent condition. Save $50,000 over new. This boat needs nothing!

Default RE: 1999 Albemarle 247 - REDUCED $36,950

Forgot to mention......

Full tank (118 Gallons) of PREMIUM gas included and stabilized with PRI-G Jan. 2008. $400 value.

Make offer for a great mini-offshore four-stroke battlewagon.
