Thanks for the inquiry. When I originally purchased the boat it had a 1996 Evinrude 225 OceanPro on it. Unfortunately, I was not aware of OMC's (Owner of the Evinrude Brand) financial and assembly line, production problems ( since been rectified by the purchase out of bankruptcy by Bombardier). Long story short, the upper bolt bearings backed out, blew the engine and I was on the hunt for a new engine. After hearing all good things (BulletProof) about the Yamaha OX 66's, I decided to go in this direction and I haven't had a problem since. Thanks for the thought. I believe it is 28 G's and it has a smaller one on the back. It's a great boat and hopefully someone wil be able to enjoy it at a sweet price. All the best.
