Went for a ride lastnight and everything is perfect. Will be heading to the Chesapeake Inn this evening and then making our way to Delaware on Wednesday am.
Boat will be spending the rest of the season on the upper Chesapeake. I'll be bringing her up on Fri 7/13. I get a lot of emails about the boat but I still have her for sale!!
Have a slip at Summit North Marina. You'll probably see a lot of the boat at the Chesapeake Inn and the Bohemia river if time permits. Guess I need to learn of some good day trips and see the area.
Its a little long for a day trip, but you'll have to come down to Annapolis/Kent Island and we'll have a little B31 get together w/Crowsnest, Mako and the Anna E.
JK, that's a nice marina, though fuel's a little $$. We stayed there on our way to AC last year. The've got a decent pool and you gotta watch for the bridge to raise, first one who see's it gets a free drink (I wasn't first).
For you The canal is about 1-1/2 hrs from Baltimore and probalby 2 to annapolis. The Sasafrass is senic, but long. Pick up a copy of the NorEaster & Mariner, they'll have local events.
Who knows get a taste of bay cruisin and you may just decide to keep SeaNile....
It's been a bit of a yo-yo season for me already. Got a good price for a slip in DE and figured it would be easy enough to get away for a lot of offshore trips this summer. Reality is the slip is 2.5hrs away and without a house down by the boat it kind of makes it a non family event and only useful for offshore trips. To make matters worse getting into the slip is a bit challenging as there is a nasty shoal at the mouth of the canal and most of the locals there are able to time the tides accordingly. So when I add up everything, the challenge of getting into the canal at anything other than hi tide, the 2.5hr trip, throw in the weather and chance to trips getting cancelled last minute, and lets not forget about leaving the family at home it just makes more sence to bring the boat closer to home. I'm sure it'll look a little out of place with the 2 E120's, 1kW ducer and double spreader Rupp riggers, etc. as I cruise up the Bohemia but hopefully I'll be doing it with family and friends. I think the offshore trips are on hold for a few years. Can anyone say Sea Ray!! Or just take a break from boating and buy some AAPL, CAT....
JK, what's wrong with overkill.... I cruise the creeks of the Chesapeake in a B35 which is soon to have a fresh set of CAT diesels. Besides you have more wow factor in your tricked out B31 than any sea-ray even a 50 footer. Our boats with the big cockpits cruise as well as they fish.
Boat is now on the Upper Chesapeake Bay at Summit North Marina for the rest of the season. Still get a lot of emails but no one is serious yet, hopefully soon!
