History
Boat was bought by the son of the Boston Whaler Dealership owner in 2001. Since his dad owned The Outboard Shop he easily took care of all the maintenance and kept this boat in fantastic shape. He stored the boat at a dry dock facility and only put aprox 200 hours four years. Boat was always washed and motors flushed after saltwater use.

Since I use a boat mainly on fresh water I was not looking for a boat that had been used primarily in salt water. This boat was in great shape and very little sign of salt water use.

I bought boat in 2005 and use it for aprox 145 hours at our lake house on Lake Murray. We use on the weekends and store it on the trailer covered. We have used it in salt water about three times, but we washed the boat and flushed the motors after use. Yamaha Ring Free fuel additive has always been mixed with my gas and the only two stroke oil I ever use is Yamalube. I probably have spent more time cleaning the boat then I have using it. The boat and motors are in fantastic shape and have been a very dependable. I do not have to say anything about Boston Whaler’s reputation for building exceptional boats. These Yamaha motors have also a great reputation for being long lasting. The boat I had previous had the exact same 150 HP ox66 Salt Water Series motor in which I never had any problem with. I can not think of a better combination.

I am selling because I sold my lake house.

Great looking boat. Wondered where you got the boat cover and how much? Is it a trailerable cover? Thanks. Dwain

The cover came with the boat when I bought it. I have trailered the boat with the cover but not at highway speeds. It is like a kite and draws a lot of wind.

KS, It's a great looking boat. Is it still for sale ? If so, I have some questions.
(1) Do all of the switches work ? (ie nav lights , anchor lights etc etc ) ?
(2) Do all of the pumps work ? (macerator, bilge, baitwell, sw and fw ? )
(3) Do all of the electronics work ?
(4) Do you have the owners manuals for the boat, electronics and engines ?
(5) Is the boat equipped with a permanent head or porti potti ?
(6) Is the boat equipped with the yamaha fuel mgt system ? It looks like it from the photos but I wanted to confirm. BTW, your photos were excellent and shortened this list considerably.
(7) How large is the overhead electronics box? I will be adding radar and a navnet system if I purchase.
(8) Is there a mounting plate in the t-top for radar?
(9) How old is the trailer ? Does it have surge brakes ? Flushing mechanism?
I noted from your posts on continuous wave you were concerned about speed and props. Can you tell me what your fuel burn has been when engines are at 4200-4400 RPM ? I would hope its at least 2 mpg on a light load.
I'm sorry for the long email but I am serious about your boat. If you don't want to type out a response you can call me . (205) 222-5346 thanks Richard

Thanks for the interest. Here are the answers to your questions. 1. All switches work 2. All pumps work except in the fish two fish boxes in the floor. The pump is used to drain the water. TBoth fish boxes have drains "plugs" that you can pull and drain while moving. 3. all electronics work except cd player does not load cds. The radio works and sounds great. 4. Yes I have owners manuals for boat, motors, and electronics. 5. Yes the boat has permanent head. 6 Yes Yamaha fuel system 7. overhead box is large. I have mounted but not included with the boat a raymarine rl 70 chart plotter. Vhf radio is also mounted in box and is included with boat. Still room to store other stuff in box. 8. I am not sure about the plate. 9. Trailer is aprox two years old in is in excellant shape "I bought brand new". Yes surge brakes. No flush mech that I know of. 10. The props are great and I was only asking about props because I looked at a boat in Wilmington with exact same setup. His did not have a t-top and he bought some special props and said the boat would run 55. My boat has great hole shot and excels very fast to full speed. My boat never broke the 50 MPH mark and so I was asking about props. His was faster because no t-top and Maybe the props he bought. Gas miliage I couldn't say. I would guess it would burn least 2 mpg on a light load. But it could be higher or lower. I really haven't paid much attention to the gas. Last time out I spent the whole weekend on Lake Murray without having to refill. Don't mind the questions at all. Be glad to take you out and let you see for yourself.

Are you considering trades? I have a 160 Dauntless listed here on THT. I am located in Fort Mill / Tega Cay area.

MD, I have nearly the same boat that KS has (I have a Gore T-top, and no curtain cuddy). I don't know how KS has the engines mounted or which props he has but with half a bag of gas I get between 2.1 and 2.3 mpg anywhere between 2800 and 3800 rpm (23-34 stat mph). I have Mercury Mirage Plus props (17p) and the engines are mounted on the second hole. I raised the motors one notch last year and it improved my cruise mpg by 10%.

No, mine is not for sale -- just thought I'd fill in the blank on fuel economy...
