Default 1999 Scout Sportfish 185 For Sale $14K

Guys,

This is an really awesome boat but I just upgraded (to another Scout) and now am the Admiral of a small fleet (not my original plan ).

I am selling the Sportfish 185 (which is a 18.5' Center Console from Scout). I have had it since 2004 and it has been nothing but turnkey. I made a lot of improvements to it including a full electronics update and a custom T-Top.

Here are some highlights:
[*] 1999 Scout Sportfish 185[*]CELLSTAT SW2 Computerized Battery Monitor Master Enable Switch[*]Dual Batteries in trays[*]Redudant electric run to helm in 2004 to support additional electronics.
[*]2004 Electronics:[*]Standard Horizon CP150C Color Chart Plotter[*]External Mushroom Antenna on TTop[*]C-MAP NT+ Cartography
[*]Standard Horizon Quest VHF[*]8' Digital Fiberglass Antenna mounted on TTop
[*]Furuno FCV600L Color Fishfinder[*]Transom Mount P-66 Triducer[*]Keeps bottom well while underway
[*]Navman F3100 Fuel Flow Meter[*]All electronics are networked over NMEA connections
[*]1999 Honda BF90A Four Stroke XRTA(estimate ~150hrs) Turnkey, runs perfect, looks close to perfect[*]Stainless Prop[*]Power Tilt/Trim
[*]Custom T-Top[*]Front and rear spreader lights[*]Navy Sunbrella top[*]four rocket launchers
[*]1999 Galvinized Roller Trailer
Looking to get $14,000.

This is the best price for a 185 that I could find and the only one with a T-Top and full electronics set-up.

Awesome boat, awesomely outfitted for this price. Cared for like it was my own child

I love the boat. Just needed to move-up a little.

I also edited the post to include the model of the Honda BF90A .... It is an XRTA

There was a question about height to the underside of the Rocket Launchers (75") and T-top (T-top frame is 80"). The support braces are as low as 78" off the deck.

Thanks,
Joe.

How much does the weight of the T top effect the boat during a drift etc.

I believe that the weight of the top is approx 50lb for the frame and 15lb for the e-box. I don't think that weight impacts the drift at all. To me, the overall benefit of the t-top well outweighs any drawback.

Are you sure the boat isn't a 175 Scout? The 90 honda seems a little light in terms of H.P. for the 185.

I had a full t-top on my 175 and I couldn't say it affected the drift one way or another. Possibly when I had the full curtains up on a blustery day it might have acted a little as a sail, but that was marginal if at all.

I am absolutely certain it is a 1999 Scout Sportfish 185 equipped with a 90HP Honda 4stroke. It is not a rocketship with the 90HP (WOT approx 28knots, Cruise approx 23knots with 55gal of fuel, two adults and fishing gear) but it gets right up on plane and I have never felt that the 90HP was a problem.

That was how they outfitted them in '99 when people chose a Honda.

On the flipside the engine is super-reliable and burns a rediculous little amount of fuel in a day of fishing.

I live on Long Island. Is the Boat still for sale???? It may be more than me an a buddy are looking to spend but you never know.

Big question I have is if you can comfortable fish 3 guys casting bucktails from this boat.. We are looking at 18-20 foot boats but I am not sure how much room is in the scout... How does it compare room wise to like an 18' Parker???

Doug
