Re: 2003 33' Hydra Sports Motors warrantied until '09 **REDUCED TO $112,000**
I usually cruise it around 3600rpms and doing 35-36mph getting 1.2-1.3, 4000 rmps gets you 40-42mph at 1.1-1.2 and wot gets you 57-59 depending on the load and I don't bother to look at the fuel burn then.
Dry weight is 8700lbs so dressed and ready to fish she's around 10,000lbs I would guess.

Ed,
keep the boat, sell the motors and get 3 - 300 4 stroke zukes, i just looked at them on sat, will be amazing with all fly by wire controls and 6 year warrenty lookn at 60k right now, but im sure in the next few months you will be able to do it for 50k or so minus your power, so maybe 40k all in with 6 year warrenty, same weight as your 2 strokes, no more oil, 150hp more, super quiet, regular fuel.. i think the 33 will do 64 with the right props, but but in low rpms 4,000 will be like 1.6mpg which would be sweet..
look at this post

These are the numbers i gathered. I didnt write anything down but, these are close.
At 40mph, 3700 rpms, burning around 8.8-9.5 gph, depending on trim, and jack plates.
A 50mph, 4600-4700 rpms, burning around 12.5-13.5gph.
I picked up 7 people, 8 with me included, ran 62.7mph, with around 250-300 gallons of fuel, at 6000 rpms. I dropped everyone one off, and ran the boat with 2 of us, at 67.2mph at 6100 rpms. Theres no doubt the boat will see 70mph. The
props are stock 26 pitch 4 blades. I ran with the jack plates all the way up, on the outside mototrs, and put the center motor almost half way down. I think if i lower the center motor, may also help. There still alot of things i can try, and being the first day out, with 6 hours on the motors, i want want to give them a chance to loosen up.
These motors are awsome. The controls are smooth, the motors have a lot more mid range than the 250's. And once you get to 60 the mph just keeps climbing fast. I actually ran out of room on the last pass at 67. Feels like a totally different boat.

The best was at 50mph, 4600rpms, burning a combine of 39 gph. Going out again tomm, to put on another 6 hrs on it.

Yeah, my #'s are close, but trying to remember all that is hard. I was by myself all moring, so ill have someone with me to write it down tomorrow. The 250's would run 59 light and 55 loaded. Ive already picked up 10 mph. There is still room to play after its broken in. my 50 mph cant be right after seeing that. Ill take some pics of the gps, if possible. At 67, its a little hectic. I just didnt want to hit the limiters. Ill push it a little harder tomorrow.

I took the boat out on Sunday to put a few more hours on it. I was in the Gulf talking to a buddy when another buddy pulled up in a 35 Wellcraft, with trip 300 yams. So you know what is coming next. He took off, and i was right behind him. He did have his wife and kids but thats no excuse. Running into the wind i was running 68.4, as i was cruising buy the Wellcraft. My guess would be, he was doing low 60's. Im happy with everything that has been done witht he new motors, and controls. The only thing i dont like is the trim on the motors, is now on a small key pad. So while running and trying to trim at the same time is hard. It is right below the start and stop button. Before it was three seperate buttons, that were spaced apart. Im trying a new set of props as soon as i get them , ill post #'s to see if it runs any faster. 68 is not bad for the second day on the water. Anybody thinking about getting Suzukis, i highly recommend these 300's. Anybody want to go for a ride, its on the lift, on the water, give me a shout. "

peytonlac,
Thanks for the idea but the boat has to go.
I do love those new Suzuki's. One of my buddies just switched from Yammie 225 four strokes over to the Suzuki 300's. Talk about a night and day difference in power, I was very impressed. The fly by wire controls are smooth as silk and I love the new gauges.

Big Ed- what's the bridge clearance with the radar? Your showing reduced to 112k in '06 and then again in 3/07. Your a little off my budget but are you willing to reduce???
