thanks for the question. It's located in Biloxi, MS. The engines do have Flo-scans/tachs on them, so our burn is 28 gph at 22 knots, 30 gph at 23.5 knots. The boat will top out around 27 knots (which we never run it at, only to make sure we're making max rpms) . Thats with full fuel and water. The Port engine has around 200 hours on it and the Starboard has arouns 1800. The Generator has about 1200 hours on it. We really baby the boat and it has been a dream to own. It is one of the most veratile boats I have been on. We fished a tournament a couple of months ago. By the time we were back at the dock, we averaged 1.05 nautical miles per gallon thats with the generator running for three days straight. Trolling speed of 7 to 8 knots we're burning around 4 gallons per hour.

the 3208 TAs that are on our Topaz are the 375 hp ones. They typically have to be rebuilt around 5000 hours. I have heard of people in the commercial industry having up to 10,000 hours on them. the 425 and 435 hp versions have to be rebuilt around the 2500 to 3000 hour mark. We did a lot of research on the engines before we bought the boat.

The Port is a total drop-in reman. It's a whole different engine. A timing valve loosened up and caused a little play which eventually caused the end to mushroom allowing a push rod to drop. This threw off the timing and it slung a piston, cracking the block. We totally removed the engine and replaced it with a new remanufactured engine, since CAT stopped making 3208's (emissions compliance).
