Default Cypress Gardens "Ski Skat"

Any of you old f**ts remember this one? We were doing some cleaning out and ran across this. I remember when I could actually get up on one of these. That was a few years and pounds ago.

Edit: Sorry about the pic size. We just got a new camera and am having a hard time trying to figure it out.

Yes, I remember it,

My buddy had an old 15' Glastron skiboat, and that thing was part of the arsenal.

I never could get up on it, but he could,

I liked the Alfredo Mendoza but I also had a Dick Pope Jr. that was a little narrower. Our favorite "bust your tail" ski was a regular canoe paddle. Barefoot was OK but not as much fun.

When I got my current boat (kids old enough to do stuff behind the boat on a rope...)
I dragged out all our old Cypress Garden ski's and tried to get em in shape. Lots of rotten foot bindings and corroded parts. Sadly the Dick Pope's were too far gone, but I was able to re-finish the 'Busters' AND keep the logo decal on em. Which is good cause they are just the right size for the kids...
Yeah, we had a Ski Skat and the dog-bone lookin things...no one ever got good on em, and they were a pain...no idea where they ended up at...

I always liked the "Lil Monster". Nice and slim at the back so you could dig in and throw a wall of water.

Spent many great hours on one when I was young. Had a little monster that I had to strip and redo.

I have the El Diablo and Little Monster and Big Monster. Back when people water skied instead of tubing on giant hot dogs those were fun "hotdogger" skies.

I remember the ski skat! When I was around 12 I used to go skiing with these teenagers from NY (we all camped in Maine all summer) so I could spot for them. They used to let me ski a lot too... my older bro was supposed to take me out on our boat but he was too busy with the teenage girls LOL.

Anyway, with those NY guys I got the chance to try out trick skis and the ski skat. I have some pics of me (not digital) on the ski skat and in one of them I'm engulfed in spray! Way cool.

marshwabbit, you should show a pic of the fin on that thing - I remember it being HUGE!
