Default Reg 26/ JL audio

Finally got some pics of the new system thanks to Mike at SWFL. Installed a Clarion CMD4, Sirius unit,JL audio 4 channel amp, and 2 pair of JL audio 7.7's.. The sound is super clean, audiophile quality (a first for marine stereo IMO) The JL stuff just flat out rocks. Listened to her all day while cleaning / waxing, getting ready for launch tomorrow

thank you.- esp for the pics...I think most readers think that JL's are just a better speaker, but they are THE STANDARD.... I had all the rest and kick my self for not doing it sooner...once you get your hands on a JL speaker it becomes clear.....the rest are pretenders....

and I love infinty....they are good "boat speakers" but JL is "bring your living room wth you" esp at cruise...

Tunabomber,

I have the same set up(Clarion/sirius) only problem is every time I turn off my batteries at the end of the day I loose the channel selections I programed in to the unit. Sounds crazy but what a pain in the butt to reset all the channels each time I take the boat out. Do you have the same issue or can I rig the radio a different way to prevent that. With 100 plus channels it's a pain to constantly have to go in to the head to acsess the radio stations and reprogram every trip. I have the same remote as you but it only changes to the stations that are programed. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

the yellow wire from the head unit needs to go straight to the positive pole of a batt and bypass all the swirches - this will keep the settings no matter what the batt switches are set on..did'nt you see that on the wiring schematic you got with the radio? If someone else installed it, they did a poor job if thyey did not do this for you....

Glen E,
Thanks for that info. I had the dealer do the install of my electronics when I bought the boat. I'll take a look at the units wiring next weekend. Is that yellow wire your refering to just for that reason, to maintain settings?
Thanks again,

Yep Glen's got it. Just hard wire the yellow wire to the battery and they will stay programmed. Thats what that wire is for.

Hey Bomber,

Sweet Job ! Did you do the install or did you have it done? If you had the install done would you mind sharing the cost? I'm thinking about having my rig re-done with quality JBL like yours... Wondering roughly what it will run...

Thanks

honestly no disrespect but "quality JBL" is an oxymoron - JBL is not the company we grew up with.....quality on the water is JL audio - I hope that's what you meant....
www.jlaudio.com

thestuff ain't cheap a set of speakers are $399 street and the amps are in the same range....subs are about 150 each...
