Hot lure was 9" white ruby lip shads and got a keeper on a spoon in tandem with a stretch 25.

That's very brave.

I believe that fish was so impressed, he just surrendered

Very nice catch! Glad you guys had a great day out. I'm heading out tomorrow morning. I plan on working up north near the mud flats and love pt. area. 1/2 day, heading in early to load the boat on the trailer.

Ahh no worries. the stretch pulls down far enough to keep it away from the action of the spoon. It is a combo my father uses in NJ for slammer blues and stripers. I run it short to the boat to keep from other lines. sometimes it also helps to run a trolling weight prior to the 3 way swivel to help it track true too.

BW, It usually is nice to share some of the fuel costs but these guys have been helping me out with some tight manufacturing deadlines lately (I am a printer) and it was my treat. I owed it to them.

dematteoss, if you are running north if Kent Island, I know of someone who had done very well chumming off of Love Point. Good luck and give us a report.

B-Faithful,

Thanks for the good luck and trust me, I need it. I'm a rookie and still learjing this bar. I'm from Long Island NY and moved to Maryland 7 years ago and just bought my first boat at the Baltimore Boat Shohw this winter. Opening day did not go so great for me as it did for others but I have some hope that tomorrow will. I'll let you know how I do. I think I am heading to Love Point first and see how that produces, then the Mud Flats and maybe fish the $hit Pipe structure. If nothing, then I'll troll for a bit.

Scott

Nice work Greg! And you know as well as I do, with the Opti, you don't have to worry too much about fuel.

I ran 20-30 minutes to fishing location burning 10-11 gph @ 30mph, trolled 6 hours at .5gph ran back 20-30 minutes. burned ~15 gal. Not too bad if you ask me

(I dont think I could be an offshore fisherman today--though I do miss catching tuna)
