Default Venice 4/21

Finally managed to sneak away from work for a day and made it down to Venice Friday. Snapper were thick everywhere Friday, but quality fish were hard to come by. Saved a few spots for bigger fish and headed to deeper water, but the AJ's were so thick it was nearly impossible to get through them. Saturday again produced a quick limit of snapper with a few better fish. Wanted to go long for tuna/wahoo, but with the crew having to be back early we stayed close and hit a grouper hole. They were there and hungry. Managed one more AJ, several nice grouper, and "donated" a few big fish to the rig before deciding to head in. Back at the marina for noon with the boxes loaded is never a bad option. Looks like it's going to be grouper sammiches for me tonight.

Gary,

It's a friend's 2300 with twin Suzi DF 140s. I've fished the boat for the last year and have nothing but good to say about it. Fast, smooth ride, good layout, fishes well, etc. PM me if you want any further details.

Ben

Chris,

The grouper were on the bottom in 320 ft. Caught 4 and a couple of BIG break offs in less than an hour. Hardtails were the ticket. Could have really hammered them, but decided we had more than enough meat and headed in early.
