I wouldn't think they'd want to if they thought it was a record fish.......

It looks like they did at least bleed it a little. There's a cut by the tail.

screw a record, i want some sushi

would mutilation of the tail not count against the record? I know nothing of the rules, but I would think that could disqualify them. It would if I wrote the rules

It does not look like they bled it. The cut on the tail is for grading the meat.

S-O they probably cut the tail after it was weighed.

there has only been a handful of confirmed catches in our waters

I'm sure there will be more pressure from now on. Kind of sad in a way, but......we all know how that goes.

They caught an 1152 lb. Bluefin down here (Venice, LA) a couple of years ago. I would have thought 399lbs would be small, but I have never caught a Bluefin.

Did they have a comm lic? He says he's eating sushi so I'm guessing they kept it??? I thought they had to be under 73 for a rec to keep... As slow as this year has been he could have made good money on that fish.
