My manufacturer installed the Racors with the metal bowls behind an access door not subject to good ventilation.

Because most inboard engines have a better tendancy to off gas with vapors, and have more points of ignition!

It's a bare-bones Lookout 25'. I purchased a bare hull and console. I put shut-offs on the filters as I reasoned that I needed a way to stop the fuel flow for any number of reasons. The pick-ups are anti-siphon, but this is just another layer of redundancy. See? I'm not a complete firebug!
