Default Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse

Quite possibly the most photographed lighthouse in the entire Chesapeake Bay.

That sure is a cool looking lighthouse. Does somedody stay there and operate it or is it un-manned?

Capt. Squddly, Thomas Point Light is an un-manned lighthouse. I helped with it's restoration in 1992 or 1993 (can't remember) when I was in the USCG. It is a very cool lighthouse.

It was manned until 1986 and it was the last lighthouse on the Ches Bay to be automated. It is the last screwpile lighthouse on the Bay (3 others are at museums). It is 1 of only 9 lighthouses in the US to be designated a National Historic Landmark.

I know VA is selling some of the Chesapeake Bay lighthouse, is this one up for grabs as well? Or is that just a VA thing?
