We headed down to Morehead Friday after work. We hit a huge log jam in Raleigh and had to take an alternate route just to get to Hwy 70. An hour later, we were finally on 70 heading East.
We stopped at Wilber's BBQ in Goldsboro and had a great dinner. We finally arrived at mom's place around 10:00 PM.
Saturday morning, we decided to go do a little trolling. I had my wife Lisa, son Ralph (TrollnHeel) and his girlfriend Dru aboard. We headed for AR315 and saw a parking lot, but it was not as busy as I thought it would be for a holiday weekend. I cruised over to the same spot we fished on our last trip. It was not long before a rod went screaming. It was a huge Spanish, biggest we have ever caught. Set the lines back out, another big Spanish, but we lost him at the boat. A few minutes later, the flat line went off again and one of the downriggers. I gave the rod to Lisa and she fought a small King. He was mortally wounded and over 24" so he went in the box. The other King was too small and was released okay. Several minutes later, another Spanish. It was a lot of fun. My youngest brother Matt (King Smurf) went out to the NW Places in his 24' Carolina Skiff. That tells you how calm it was.
We went to the docks at Old Towne to get a lunch game plan. We decided to go to Finz. We loaded up 9 folks in my boat and cruised over to the restaurant. The cheeseburgers and cold beers hit the spot.
The afternoon game plan was to cruise out to the Cape Lookout Light House. The girls had never been out there before. We pulled up into Barden's Inlet and started drifting for flounder. We hit the tide wrong and all we ended up with was mangled mullet from shark attacks. We fished there for about 30 minutes or so, then moved over to the hook. Same results. We pulled in the lines and headed to the docks.

Saturday night, mom fixed up a big pot of spaghetti with garlic bread and salad, it was some fine eating.
Sunday, we headed out in search of some mullet for bait. We did not have much luck, so we jigged up some Pin fish. The girls really enjoyed that. We got into some Croaker and Lisa really had a blast with them. We docked the boat and went to El's for lunch. When we came back, we headed over to the Port wall to get out of the wind. The boat traffic was pretty heavy. Caught a ton of small sea bass and decided to move around. We ended up riding more than fishing, but that was okay. With the wind forecast not looking good for Sunday, we decided to put the boat on the trailer that afternoon. We got back to mom's and Lisa and I washed up the boat.
All clean:
Sunday night, mom fixed roast with all the fixing's, another great meal. We watched the State game, my step-dad is a Wolfpack man. We watched some of the race and called it a night.

We got home yesterday around 6:00 PM, tired and ready for some rest. I wish we had caught more fish, but everyone had a good time and that's the most important thing. Spend time with your family every chance you get.
