Default No wonder I caught no fish!

Nothing on the fishfinder! What goes on here? Then I see the culprit...and he see's me! He's having a great time watching me. As I whistle he gets closer and tries to splash me. This little guy wants to play and I'm just as curious as he is. He drifted with me for a good 40 minutes.*I think we bonded!

Where was he at?
That's awesome...
I know my kids would love seeing that in the wild.

I don't think it would be fair to my new "little buddy" to give out the exact location but it was a few miles outside Gloucester Harbor.

I say OPPORTUNITY ! Put a nice bait fish on a 4/0 hook and cast. I'd think you'd get a pretty good fight from the bugger!

Of course then you'd have to unhook him and that could get tricky

While they look cute they have incredibly sharp teeth . . . in French the are called "loup marin" = "sea wolf" . . . look at their teeth and you will see why

VERY COOL, Jay - BEAUTIFUL creature!

Closest I've been to one was at the Washington (D.C.) Zoo.

Looks like you've got a friend for life out there now!

Regards,

Thick as flies out here. The pups are really cute, the adults tend to be a pain and often take salmon right off your line.

It can be frustrating but I figure they gotta eat too--I can always come home and throw on a couple of burgers.

I let one of those little suckers spend the night on the back of my boat, heard him huffing and puffing, opened up my tuna door and he jumped right on. In the morning after he was all rested up (and all fuzzy and white) he wanted to have a go at me barking and snapping, I gave him the boat brush and sent him out the door, he spent the rest of the morning eating ONLY the fresh chunks I was sending down! (still darn cute!)

Seal Gumbo
Seal is probably the worse tasting game meat after water buffalo in Africa . . . very greasy and a strong taste . . . even many Inuit do not like seal meat
