Better late than miss the season / launched my new boat this weekend
After selling my 1999 25 Contender a few years ago I really missed having an offshore boat. I have a 20 ft SeaCraft that goes every where with me but when it kicks up or if I want to go offshore the 20 was not the ticket. Even though Contenders are great boats and I loved my 25 it was much more suited to So. Florida than the chilly spring and fall weathers of the Northeast.
I have always wanted a particular Boston Whaler, the offshore 27, but due to the fact there were only a handful ever made the ones I found were either far too expensive or in a far off land like Alaska. Lucky for me I found one this past January in Jupiter Florda that had been sitting in the Bahamas for most of its life. The boat was pretty rough but after 3 months I got it back to shape here is a link to the process and here are some pictures from this past Friday's Launch

Kind of, I went into Newport Harbor to pick up some guests and have diner but did wind up in the mess from the Folk Fest as boats were all over the place. I am looking forward to The Jazz fest this weekend, will you be there?

Trayder:
Probably. I was in Newport for a wedding this past weekend - stayed on goat island - left the boat in the mooring field between the Hyatt and the bridge.

Wow, great story and good work. I really like that style boat. I guess its a pilot house walkaround and must be very versitile and with the Evinrudes I imagine it must perform well.

You now have two of my favorite classic boats. Congratulations on both the purchase and your
work - someday I hope to have the time and skills to do the same with my SeaCraft. By the way,
ScottM was kind enough to e-mail me a couple of weeks ago about Newport. I know I have been
delinquent from the CSC site, but I am planning on being in Newport for the gathering.
