My 2 cousins, one of my best freinds and I broke fire island inlet @615am and we were 38 miles offshore by 745am. My crew were all first timers for sharking and I have only been sharkin handful of times myself. First set of baits went out and within 15 min we were on something very strong. 2 hours later we got our first peak at him. Half hour later i sunk the fly gaff in him. 312lb and alomost 7 feet from nose to begining of his tail.
