Yesterday as we were getting ready to head out for a party, the sky literally fell out..
It rained like I have seen only a few times in my life and in about 45 minutes, we had almost 4 inches of rain! I could barely see the other side of the street during strongest periods..
The drainage just couldn't keep up and this was the result.
After the rain let up and the water started going back down, I was already kind of soaked so I ran upstairs to change so I could help a stranded van (which you can see behind my truck) and let Dutch have some fun in the water.. He did

The white Ford truck looks like it's at a ramp already? Must be nice, just back down and launch! Must be H*ll going to drive somewhere though.
Hey SpaceMan, Don't know about your neck of the woods, but we've been getting our fair share here in little 'ol Sanford. Rained so hard Thursday night it looked similar to ReelWorks pictures above, with dime and nickel sized hail to boot! Had had decent rain almost every day since, and is raining right now.
Not complaining as I can get out and do a few things between rainshowers and it's not 110° out either!
I got lazy and didn't put the bow rail support thingies on the other day when I put the cover oin the boat, and had to go bail 2 tons of water out of the collection area this morning. I won't do that again!
Needless to say I went ahead and put the cover on proper after I emptied out the Grand Canyon by bailing water for what seemed like forever.

Flounder, I am not far from Denbigh.. If you remember where Dean and Don's is, I am about a block from there.
Gus, I've been waiting for you to show and help with the dock!

Chris,It ain't no better on this side. I haven't been out on the boat in a while. The last time I looked, there were animals in twos looking to board. I'm not about to grow a beard.
Hey Reelwork, I appreciate you swingin' that faucet our way. We got it special delivery this afternoon.
Scott, that's funny about the boat cover. I've done the same thing before. It seemed like we were in a spot that was missing all the rain--4" just south of us in Pittsboro, and of course y'all got a gullywasher.
This cool weather is so nice. No AC. Just open the windows and enjoy the breeze.

About a block from Dean and Don's, I grew up down there and know that area well. My last house, before coming up to Fredericksburg, was just off Maxwell Ln. Best friend grew up in Deep creek. My wifes parents still live in Hilton and keep a sailboat in Hampton.
We would have made better time coming home from the coast if I would have launched the boat, put the truck on the trailer and towed it home. It was a frog drowner for sure.
