Here are some photos of our Pursuit's first fishing trip. Almost 600 miles covered and all types of seas encountered. Best fish was 44lb King salmon. Worst was the half a king I got after Blue Shark attacked it near boat. Best tasting will be the 6 chicken halibut brought home. Most personality goes to the 8-10 lb coho. Next year we will be going a month later so we don't have to go 30 miles out into the ocean to get the good fish. End of August they will have plenty in and around the islands that make up Barkley Sound. We stayed at a great place in Bamfield. The owner has dock space and some ammenities you can have access to if you want. No staff just an old commercial lodge with a caretaker that paints - Sorry, I will learn to watch my language - all day. Boats just come and go and give the caretaker what money they think is fair based on what ammenities they used (Showers, Freezer space, power). If you use the lodge it is different but we just needed someplace to set some cooler and call home.
I will only post a few photos but if there is any others you would like to see let me know.
Re: Pursuit 3070 First fishing trip includes shark
Congrats on a successful first trip. Thanks for sharing the fuel prices, it makes me think I'm getting a bargain @ $2.70. Is the boat everything you expected ? What #'s are you getting with the F250's ?
Re: Pursuit 3070 First fishing trip includes shark
Elusive our numbers for this trip are a bit off because we put on a new set of props that were not the ones they were said to be. My post under the boating forum board will explain in more detail. Even with the wrong props we were getting 48 mph loaded full full. MPG was in the 1.4 -1.5 depending. Moderate seas ocean running was 1.2. The SWSII were OK but the numbers all the way around should improve all the way around once we dial in the correct prop, probably the factory (SWS) one or a Merc Mirage prop. The fuel prices were in Canadian and an imperial gallon not the US gallon. Still way to expensive for normal use. On the way to ramp we stopped at local Texaco and filled up with 89 at $2.51 a gallon. In Canada some marinas only offer 89 octane. If we ever see gas at $1.50 a gallon I am going to fill up the damn boat and just burn guess without regard. I dream of those days.

Thanks for the pics and sounds like a great trip.. Good luck on getting the performance dialed in too!

Thats a really nice spring you had there..or king i guess you call them in the states! What was it..40lbs?? WHat depth were you running. and what did u get it on?
Re: Pursuit 3070 First fishing trip includes shark
A strong 44 lbs. Caught him at Laporuse Bank off Barkley Sound (26.5 miles out in ocean) in 84 feet of water with a favorite plug. We may go back in September to fish inside to target some bigger hogs. White meat also.
