I'm with those who say that $375 is not what a bottom painting should run....twice that would be more in line. It pretty much sounds like you got what you paid for---a cheap paint job with sub-standard materials and workmanship.
The dealer should step up and help out, though. At least acknowledging the problem would be moving in the right direction.

Your boat looks awesome with that fresh paint on the hull.........I hope your dealer steps up and offers something of value for their botched job... and I agree with Elusive $375.00 is way too cheap for the first bottom on a new rig...

When I had my 2005 Maycraft 20' painted it included bottom prep, barrier coat and three coats of hard Anti-Fouling Paint the bill ran me about $1,100.00.....the boat has been docked at my bulkhead since painting (3/2005) and I use it every weekend and I have no barnacles at all.....just a little growth of grass around the lower part of the engine bracket that is not painted with anti-fouling

Took the boat out today for the first time after getting the bottom cleaned. Before the cleaning I was getting 28-29mph at 4000 rpm with me and my 12 yr old. Today I had 5 people on the boat and was getting 32-33 mph at 4000 rpm. I guess a clean bottom makes a little difference.
Oh, the dealer got in touch with me and agrees that there is a problem and that some form of reimbursement is in order.

That's good news from the dealer. Let us know who it is when it all gets worked out. It's good to see a dealer doing the right thing.
