Default nj mud hole bft

took the first offshore trip of the year and managed to land a nice bft. went out of belmar, trolled monnsters ledge with nothing but blues, then moved to the mudhole to find a football behind a dragger. water temp was around 68, with 2-4' rollers. anyone fishing these areas. please respond, going to try again this weekend if conditions are fair,

good luck, the parkerboys

I WAS thinking of going to the glory on sat but NOAA is saying 3-5's after fridays prdicted storm, may have to wait till sunday or monday for it to lay down....

Victory,

We trolled from the Arundo to the southern end of the mud hole. We were getting big blue fish all day too.

As we got to the southern end we hit warmer water and spotted a dragger - BINGO.

Mini purple jets and cedar plugs were our hottest lures. We had a daisy chain out but that got no hits.

After we hit some fish behind the dragger we went up to Monster Ledge to set up for Shark - no sharks around all day.

As far as this weekend - NOAA is calling for 4-7 ft seas on Friday night and early satuday morning. Subsiding to 2-4 Sat. evening.

Sunday looks like a better day so we will be going out Sun morning if the weather holds. Got to find out what this storm will do to the Water Temp.

We monitor ch. 68 boat name NO REGRETS .

Send me back a reply if you are going out this weekend. We will be leaving out of Shark River. Good Luck!!

This is the latest report - Looks like Sunday Should be 2-4's . If it stays that way Im good to go. If it gets any worse no go. I will have a close eye on the weather for the next 48 hours.

Not Sure about going to the Glory Hole, but if we find a dragger out there - we should should find some SBFT.

Hey guys, I was out there on Tuesday and caught about 20 big bluefish. We were working around a pair of draggers between the oil wreck and the arundo. I wonder if there were any bluefins mixed in and just got beat out by the more aggressive blues? I will be heading to Cape May for a week to try my luck down there, but after that I will be back to the Mudhole. I also monitor 68--boat name Marianella.

troll - type of lures.
jig - same

Nailed the bft at the ML on Sunday.

Parker boys> tell me that wasent a fun ride home , but worth every bump! ended up with 8 total and left em biting, the best part is that we started fishing around 6am and had 3 or 4 by 7;30 , was home by 11am in time for a sashimi lunch!! great morning....

Excellent day except the weather didnt cooperate. The ride home was rough!!

We ended up going 12 for 14 up to about 28lbs. Thanks for turning us on to the Ledge we were headed south at the time and it was slow.

When is your next trip - I ve been hearing about 50 lbers and yellowfin - sounds to good to miss!!

Sounds like it should be nice weather. I would love to be out there Sunday -What area are you going to be fishing? Reports from the glory are bigger BFT (30-60#class) and less hassle from the bluefish. We have also been getting reports of some Mahi Mahi with the warm waters.
Ill keep you posted If I can get out

Matt(Victory1),

The weather report is saying 2-4 on Saturday. I dont know how accurate that will be with the Tropical Storm by Bermuda. What have you heard?
