Yes went out Sat. approx 11am, tried you on the radio with no luck, NOAA again was WRONG, 1st said 2-4's then on sat morn. said 2-3's, well it was like 2-3 inches! flat as a board out there.....went to the same areas MH-ML, water was clear but not as blue as last wk, and not as warm either. NO fish at all....heard "reports" on the radio about a couple of wahoo being caught in the area....saw some large schools of large bait fish being attacked by something underneath, but dont know what they were, or what was attacking them???, tried trolling past em with no results......think it might be time for the chunk, or at least maybe troll some ballys....did u make it out?

matty,

We were out there and we heard your call on the VHF. We responded but we did not hear back.

Then five minutes later I think we saw you out there. We were about 200yards apart. I did not want to get to close because you were not responding to the VHF. I wasnt positive it was you.

We trolled the entire mudhloe from 530 AM to around when we heard from you. Nothing but a few blue fish. I did not hear of a single tuna caught in that area all day.

We got behind a dragger out there for the last 10 miles of our troll. The slick was filled with baby ling. Fish were eating them but they were all blues. We netted a bucket of the dead ones for fluke bait. If there were any tuna in the area we thought that would work. We got no hits trolling behind the dragger for 10 miles.

The tuna may have left the area. Have you heard any reports of tuna landed chunking?

I may try rigged baly's next time, and maybe bring some butterfish just for the hell of it....

Matty,

If the bite doesnt pick up again we may chunk next weekend or just try for a shark. Well if you hear any reports keep me posted and I'll do the same.

I will be staying in Lavalette for a week 13 to 20th of Aug. I will be fishing every day that week. I hope things pick up by then.
