Default Thunderstorm .... Ocracoke NC

These pictures were taken at Ocracoke Inlet ... a barn burner for sure hail, wind and lots of lightning.

Dang that makes my skin crawl thinking of all the poor bastards that were offshore of that. Looks like it might have been something that could be waited out though.

The only time I've seen a storm front like that, I was waiting on the ferry to Ocracoke! That had to be twenty years ago. Sure is impressive - thanks for sharing it.

That's a great picture of the mature stage of a thunderstorm. Great anvil shaping too! I bet the updraft in that thing was hellacious!
