Default Savannah trip

Thanks to all THT'ers for the suggestions.

We ate at Spankys, Lady and Sons, Pink House, Chart House, and one more place I can't remember. I would reccomend them all.

I have some "What is its" for you.

Scott

That's the Talmidge bridge that crosses the Savannah River. The bridge connects Savannah to South Carolina.

Chart House and Lady & Sons are our favorite. My wife even had to buy the cook book at L&S's. We have also recently been introduced to the pig bar at Pelican's Point. Another eat till you drop restaurant with good food.

Glad you had a good trip. Sorry the seas didn't behave themselves and you didn't get any fishing in. No doubt the sand gnats were out in force to give you a warm Savannah greeting!

I love those big container ships on the river. No room for error there. Our oldest lives in Savannah. We always enjoy visiting. Our youngest is showing an interest in attending SCAD. Ouch, there goes the bigger boat $$$$

Very nice boat and great pics.

Your post brought back a hilarious memory. Years ago, my wife and I stayed over night in a hotel along the Savannah River on the way back from a conference at Hilton Head. At something like 3 AM one of those huge cargo ships let loose her whistle right outside our hotel. I woke up scared clueless and started searching around in the dark to find the alarm clock so I could turn it off. Once I became conscious enough to realize it was not my alarm, I opened the balcony door in time to hear someone from the ship shout "Good morning Savannah". My wife never laughed so hard.

Glad you had a good time Scott ......... those are very good restaurants you frequented. I can tell by the pics that the wind must have whipping pretty good during your visit.......if it makes you feel any better the winds haven't stopped since you left.
