I lost my best friend, Rutledge Maxwell Hall of almost 14 years, last Thursday. The day that he passed away, he brought the newspaper up 2 flights of stairs with no problem. He went downhill in only a few hours from a hemangiosarcoma and was given 3 months. He only made about 30 days but gave us 100% until about noon that day. He was able to be put down, while in my lap, in the back of my wifes Honda Pilot.

We miss him and he will be in our hearts forever!!!

My dog got hemangiosarcoma when he was 8yo. It's as lethal as they come. Once the tumor ruptures the dog can die instantly or he can bleed to death slowly. My dog had 2 liters of blood in his abdomen when we brought him in, He went in for surgery to have his spleen removed and they said the tumors had spread everywhere. They wanted me to put him down on the operating table but I didn't think that would be appropriate. We took him home and he acted like nothing happened. Then about 10 days later he started bleeding again from another tumor. I had the doc insert an IV in his arm and give me the needle so I could go home and get in bed with him where he was most comfortable with me and my wife. When he fell asleep I injected him and it was over.

wow, what a great thread and a painfull one at the same time. 6 months ago within a 30 day span I had to put down my 15 yr old chocolate and then my 13 yr old. The 15 yr old was as intelligent as any dog i've ever seen and the 13 yr old was the complete opposite, if she was human she probably would have been labeled add, addhd, slow, special or any other description along those lines. even at 13 if you went to pet her she would act like a puppy and just start bulldozing her way around the room. It's still hard to think about the 15 yr old, the heart and eyes gets real heavy real quick.

great dogs and all the pictures are really enjoyable to look at . keep em coming
