Default Have You Ever Seen This?

I spied this beefy bow rod holder at the marina down the street. The boat is about 20'.

Due to it being vertical, my guess would be he / she is using it for a flag pole or something. Very heavy duty frame work there.

that is a giant bluefin sled. The bows of the 20ft seatcrafts arent that strong so the mount disperses the load and also raised the rod holder up to a more comfortable spot to yank and crank on a big one.

70s model 20' SeaCraft with a huge pilot house, and yes a beefed up rod holder.

One image passed my mind was a fighting chair like in a Bass boat! But after a second I could see the fisherman getting blasted by a big swell...not for around here! But that's an awful small boat for going for GBFT.

Exactly!! one bent butt 130 class outfit and you can tuna fish by yourself. a 23 seacraft would be a better choice(that may be a 23, I cant tell) but you could fish the bank in a 20, just gotta pick your days.

Well its got a swivel rod holder so I bet 130 class bent butt, just like th boat I fish and all the other commercial hook n line guys around here rig a center console. like posted before, the foredeck is not strong enough and at the wrong height to crank (comfortably) for an hour. also you let the fish steer the boat IE nantucket sleigh ride.

Looks like he would have to lean foward to crank a rod in that holder...
