I was real doubtful about bending those 1X4's but it worked great.
I know we have a lot of sawdust to go, but the floor has an epoxy paint on it which makes it easy to keep swept up. My friend has one heck of a nice shop. Only reason I'm able to do this. Been buying some things for the boat as I come across some deals. 08 Aluminum dual axle 5900lb Road King torsion springs disc brakes 2K, $350 compass brand new $100, some hatches, SeaStar steering $400. Will be looking for a couple 150 four strokes or maybe 200's. Have a guy lined up for the brackets.
OK. Got some good work done today regardless of my sons calls the kings were biting at the Cape.
Keel laminated and planed. Stringers laminated installed and planed.
1st Chine log cut and fit and clamped on. Epoxied to keel.
All the battens installed.
Going to try to finish the chine logs tomorrow after work and get them ready to plane.
Also rip down the material for the gunnels and shear band and have it ready. This is going really easy. Just like building the RC Planes I fly just using bigger and stiffer material.
Finished laminating the chine logs. Will plane tomorrow. Dry fitting the gunwales and 1st layer of shear bands. Maybe get the shear bands laminated tomorrow.
Hey Ed. No problem. We work a lot of evenings after work and have worked some mornings on the weekend. You are welcometo come by any time. I'll pm you with my cell number and you can call.
I talked to Donnie about a couple 150 Yam 4 strokes. Sounds like it'skind of slow right now.
Donnie
I'm just a bit jealous... I wish like hell that I had time to build a boat from scratch. Hell I can't even find the time to finish the one in my garage.
Really Great work! Looks like alot of fun.

Got the shear bands laminated on one boat and cut to fit on the other. A little more planing and will be ready to fit plywood to the bottom. Added a pic for those that don't think we make mess. The floor has an epoxy paint which makes it real easy to keep clean.
Your CBBoatworks jigs make this easy. We really appreciate all yours
and Marc's help with our questions so far. I'm sure we'll have many more.
Donnie,
We really do appreciate the nice words but... That is what were here for. :-) If this isn't a boatload of fun (pun intended) for you, we are not doing our jobs. Call us anytime!!!
Nice cup to the entry. Myself,I would of like to see a bit more Vee at the transom to give some lift there. Does that plans call for a transom bracket? A Vee bracket would in fact give lift at the transom and make the boat handle like a 24'+ boat. Looks like fun work now till glassing starts. Oh,you need to keep your work area a bit more clean. LOL!
We will be putting brackets on with a 7' swimplatform. I will check with D&D Marine to see about making them with the V.
I just cut the plywood from 4X8 sheets. You just lay the sheet on the bottom at the angle you want to start with and scribe it. Very easy. I dry fitted my whole bottom in less than 2 hours. Epoxied it this morning and dry fitted my partners before lunch. He didn't show this AM. Must have had a big Friday night Can't believe how easy this is and I know it's like framing a house. When we get into the sanding and fairing it will slow down big time. We do have access to the laborers at Jarrett Bay for some side sanding.
Got a few more hours in. Not a whole lot to show. Got the second layer of ply epoxied on my boat. My partner is going to put a layer on his sides before putting the second layer on the bottom. Played around with some pieces on the tumble home to see how hard it would be to put on. Oh Yea, that's a lot of screwing!!!!!!!!!
Inspiring....Looks great, keep all the pics coming.
