Gee Donnie, I thought the bow cap was for storage. I think too many people think this boat is a piece of art instead of a fishing boat you intend to use. I know a certain wife who will want to be going to Shackleford starting about Easter weekend.

CMP, you can make tubes like that out of fiberglass also. I made a form out of MDF, wrapped the form tightly with 2 mil plastic sheeting (we call it Visqueen down south), and wrapped it in fiberglass (have to use epoxy due to the plastic ). Let it cure overnight and knock the MDF and plastic out the middle.

Parrot are you using the PVC pipes as a mold, or as the actual scupper pipes? If for the actual pipes how well does the glassing epoxy adhere to the pvc?

I see them (the pics). I was wondering how well the epoxy sticks to the PVC. Alot of epoxies and glues seem to peel right off of it. Thats why I thought you may be using them for molds. Its a great idea if the epoxy holds I would think it would be pretty durable. What size pipe is it? It looks like like schedule 80.

Ya'll don't waste time, do you. Awesome work, and way to keep it moving. You'll be splashing before we know it. Thanks for the updates - great project.

I'm still getting the red x. Must be my crap. Anybody know how I can get this right? I don't think its my firewall,I'm able to see other pictures in other post.

Using PVC along with fiberglass,it will work real good. I done it before without any problems. Do sand and wipe it down with denature alcohle first to make sure all wax is removed. The glass will bond easy then.

I couldn't see if you installed those drain pipes. If you didn't,you could cut a piece of 3/4" plywood to were the end that slips thru the transom, side the pipe thru the plywood, glass the plywood to the inside of the transom for extra support.

I agree with this...

I'll be redoing a B20 soon, and I'd rather not use foam. But, what do you use to get positive flotation?

you must use a 2lb. density closed cell foam spray works better than the pour kits

Sweet! One thing you might have a problem with is that paint doesn't like to stick to PVC. You might have to cut the drain pipe off even with the transom which to me would look alot more cleaner.

just curious, why did you not glass the bilge and bow area before covering it, you know water is going to get in there.
