Beautiful work. Can I ask what tripod /head u r using? Did you need a split nd filter to get the apeture hence sharpness ? I love the grain in the pilings.

Give me your email and i'll send you the high res version. If you use that one, it'll probably get blurry or grainy, especially if your screen is large.

No nd filter. I don't use them at all, but I probably should. I shot this very early. Used a small apertures and a long exposure, thus the rich color. I had to tinker with the white balance in post processing to get the grain and detail to jump out.

As for the tripod, I can't say enough good things about my new little tripod. Here it is:

It is very compact and pretty stable for a small tripod. I can strap it to my camera backpack or just walk around with it very easily. It comes with a ball head, which is a must IMO. Only about a 100 bucks too.

What's your take on that Sigma 10-20 lens for shooting boat show photos?

I almost bought one for Miami last year, got the FLIB show coming up next month.

Good question. We've got a classic car thing coming up here in October and i'm going to take it down there and play with some shots. Even at 20mm, the things shoots pretty wide. If you factor in the digital converstion factor, it is like shooting a 35mm on a film camera. I think it would be really good if you're going for arsty type shots. But you do more of a documentary style thing for the boat show (i'm a big fan by the way). I think it would be a pain when you have to shoot a boat that you can't get really close to. If you get one, make sure you have something longer handy. Can't say enough about the quality and sharpness of this lens though. I'm glad I didn't pay double for the Canon.
