Before Aquapalooza there was the "Boat Party" or the barge party or Barcelona Fest, depending on who you talked to. Started by a local Sag Harbor, NY (Sag Harbor on the East End of Long Island) guy almost ten years ago as just a raft up witha barge that had a band on it, its grown to be a festival that draws up to 400 boats. (thats what they counted last year) Its open to everyone, and any type of boat. Its free, and there is always a good local band or two. Here are some shots from this year. It was cloudy, not very great boat weather, but there were still a good amount of boats. The pics do not do the festival justice. Post up if you went there this year or in the past.

I think I've seen the 25 Bertram in the pic below on THT, but I could be wrong...

Looks like and Ocean with a custom wrap. Looks pretty sweet.

My boat is the 25' Walk Around with the Radar and 12' float. It's behind the cuddy cabin in your first and forth picture. The party was really nice. There were hundreds of boats from 10' to over 100' there. It was a perfect day and the weather was also perfect. It was cloudy enough to keep everyone from getting sunburn. My friends took the float up to the bands raft and tied up. That was a whole other party going on. I ended up with the yellow floating octopus which I'll bring to the 2010 party. So if it's yours you can claim it now or wait until next year. Thank you to everyone that makes this happen.

I go to this party every year and always enjoy it.There is going to be a similar party to this in Southold bay on saturday the 15 th .I know they are having a barge with a band on it .It should be a good time

Damn! I'm in Greenport and never knew about these parties! Unfortunately I won't be in town tomorrow for the Southold party.

Any idea what the dates are for next year?

the sag party isnt the same as it used to be. it got too big and they kind of broke it up to different areas. the southold one is better now

Parties like this are ALWAYS better on someone elses boat. Last time I rafted up it broke my fuel tank vent off
