The bracket has about 30" of setback so I figure I need to mount the cavitation plate on the engine about 2" higher than the bottom of the "V". At least thats what I set it up for this weekend. I still have the option with the bolt patterns to move the engine up 4" so so and down 2" on the bracket if I have cavitation issues. Had a friend with a forklift pick up the motor, while mounted to the bracket and we got everything laid out and drilled. Couldn't mount the bracket permanently because the hardward store was out of Stainless bolts. I'll get it mounted permanently next weekend and work on the rear covering board for across the stern. I'll also put up pix tomorrow of what I got done this weekend, I'm too tired to do it right now.
No worries about that other guy. I don't think this is a wet boat at all. Of course, with the wrong operator, any vessel can become a shower for those aboard.

Looks great. Come by the shop sometime. I have a project like yours going on also... We did the demo last night and hauled a truckload of foam and glass to the dump.
Shay, I rode out there I think it was Monday evening and didn't see any lights on. I'll ride out again this evening after I get in from fishing. Its hard to find in the pitch black. haha.

I put up some new pictures on the other site. It is hard to get work done when it is getting dark at 5:00 and I get off work at 3:30. I'm tackling a lot of the minor stuff now and hoping to get it ready for painting soon.

Yea. It is slowing down now. It is hard for glue to kick in temperatures below 60* but I've did some glassing some nights and then it went down to the 40's. All the rain lately hasn't been helpful either but whenever I can, I'm plugging along at it. I got the stern covering board glued and glassed in last night and will do the trim around it as long as it doesn't start raining this evening. After that, I'll start on the front anchor locker. I haven't found a door the right size yet, I may just cut out an opening, get it glassed in, then cut it out more once I find the size I want.

The 21 Center Console thread inspired me to give a little update:
Weather has been warming up and I've been plugging along at minor stuff. Worked on the rear covering board this week. Pulling together the interior trim and the exterior rub rail into it. Have a bit more fairing and sanding before glassing them in though. Also prepped the bow for the anchor locker which I plan to pattern and cut out this weekend.

Thanks Shay. I'll make it by there soon. I definately want to have it rigged out and fishable by summer. As long as the motor runs. I bought it un-tested from a friend who had set it on the side of his garage because his stern rotted out 6 years ago having only put 150 hours on it after buying it new. I'm dedicating the majority of my spring break to working on her.

More information updated on T.B.R.'s website. I'll just put some pictures up here. Motor will fire and run for about 20 seconds, bad idle, will have to get carb's cleaned. One cylinder isn't firing either, probably a coil. I'll replace it and find out.

Got the forward bulkhead glued into place and also cut out for the locker door. Will get cloth laid to reinforce it all tomorrow. Pictures show the progress

Alot more sanding and then puttying. Applied fairing compound to stern and all the way around the edges where I tabbed the floor into the sides so that once painted the mat won't show through. Also sanded the factory bumpy gelcoat off of the topdeck all the way around smooth and stripped bottom paint down to below the waterline. More pix on other website.

Been busy with fishing and a couple other projects before I got around to painting my rig.
The white boat is a 17' Mako that I recored part of the floor of, refinished with new paint, new trim and anchor locker, and also refinished and painted the console.
I haven't kept up with updating every step on my boat because all the finishing details are boring and barely noticeable. I Primekoted the stern of my boat (still needs to be sanded) and then painted the interior with Interlux Sundown Buff. It still needs another coat, a few spots touched up, and I have to non-skid the floor before beginning to paint the exterior. Motor is running like a top now too.

Painted the exterior today with its first coat and snapped a couple photos. Will have black bottom paint so I didn't waste time painting the lower portion.

Finished up the exterior paint and put two coats of bottom paint on and cut out a plug to run the controls through. Glassed that in. Have to put on rub rail sometime in the near future but I'll have to track down an extra pair of hands I think for it. Trying to focus on getting the console mounted and the boat rigged.
