It says it keeps the surface so slick that no barnacles can grow on it...

I wonder if it works...would be great for my underwater lights.

Darthbaiter,

The stuff works great for keeping barnacles, growth and slime off anything left in the salt. Ugh, I can't find the makers website right now, it has a testimonials page where harbormasters, boat owners, etc. speak of how they used it. If I can find it I'll post.

Wow Alright well I certainly created a hubbub here for but all the wrong reasons.

Am I a spammer? Yeah I guess so although that wasn't my intent. My intent was to post threads such as this on various fishing / boating / outdoor living forums and see what the response was. I own the company (SeaScape Systems) and am doing what I consider to be research into where we might advertise in the future. Not looking for a free ride, but rather just being cautions as to where we spend our (limited) advertising budget.

I was hoping to have have a huge positive response to the pictures, a lot of "wow where can I get those?" and a bunch of other questions / comments. Enough interest = ROI (return on investment) and I would certainly have considered paid advertising.

We are a new company guys, starting a business in one of the worst economic environments in decades, so give me a little slack here!!

As regards some of the questions posted above, I'll address a couple.

Maintenance: Believe me when I tell you (and you probably already know this as you are boat owners), science has yet to develop a material which can be left under saltwater for extended periods of time without getting "crud" growing on it. There are some companies that tell you their lights will remain algai and barnacle "free" purely due to the heat and uv being produced by the light itself. This is just plain not true. Although the heat and UV help to reduce growth, it will not eliminate it. As such all underwater lights need a scrub down at least twice a year (we recommend 3 times a year) in order to keep the lights glowing at their full potential. Anyone telling you otherwise is lying to you. SeaScape has gone a step further than anyone else in the industry and is applying a clear anti-foul to each and every lens we send out. It doesn't eliminate the need for maintenance, but it certainly reduces the need even further and makes cleaning the lens that much easier. We also offer maintenence programs in certain areas where for a decent price we'll send someone out to your property to clean them for you. Fair enough??

As regards changing the bulbs, it's an easy progress that takes about 10 minutes. If you have a screw driver you can change your bulb We also promote environmental responsibility and will pay the customer to ship his old bulb back to us so we can dispose of it in a safe manner. When they do this, we knock 10% off the price of the replacement bulb (which is already low at around $45.00 per bulb).

Alright enough of my talk. Sorry for causing so much angst on here. feel free to email me with any further questions / comments. As I said before If I get enough positive feedback from THT I will certainly consider a paid sponsorship / advertisement.

It is so hard to make it in business,it's not like he is pulling the wool over anyone's eyes, just showing off his product, give him a break.

It's also a product that many of us would be interested in.

Now if he was trying to spam fake brand name sneakers and clothes,it would be another story.

I agree with you Ive been beat up on some sites & took my keyboard elsewhere. I like to see new products & if your doing it out of your garage some of the sites are unbelievable on how much charge for space defiantly not small business friendly.

Maybe a better approach would be to educate them about the site and they may then pay to advertise there product..

If i where the guy after getting beat up over his first post I would look to another source to sell my product..
