Look close at the bow and see all the rivits.I couldn't help myself but think of pictures of the Titanic with her rivited hull. She's in remarkable condition for a 101 year old hull !

Great boat. I remember seeing those when I was kid. They had layers and layers of what looked like rope and netting draped from the bow instead of the huge rubber bumpers like on the one in the picture.
What a classic!
They used them sometimes to tow (pull with long cables not push) long lines of barges down the Hudson River into NY harbor.
