I took this photo yesterday of the White House Rose Garden.
Those doors lead to the Cabinet Room. To the left of the Cabinet Room, behind the red tulips, is the Oval Office. I never saw any actual roses, but there were tulips of every color all over the place. Here's a link:

In the background you can see the Old Executive Office Building. People who work in the OEOB can walk out the back door and across a parking lot and then be in the West Wing. Here's a link:

This was taken facing east. The White House is to the left, the Washington Monument is to the right. There is actually an official White House golf store in the White House, but hardly anybody can go in there. Access to the White House is done by rank/status. Low ranking people can get into the West Wing and give private tours after hours. Higher ranking people can get in during business hours. People above them can order food from the White House Mess take out window. But only a few can actually go into the Mess and sit down. It's the same with the golf store: only people of sufficient rank can go in.
