Random Quote: I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks than in the drink with my boat on the rocks!
We decided to build a mold after great success at the Miami Boat Show. Just a few shots to let yall know that we are really going to build a mold.
These were taken with my blackberry, so not the best resolution.
This is hull #4 that had a flange attached and some minor changes made to allow her to accept a cap. We sprayed the final blue fairing compound then we will spray duratec to get her ready for waxing.

Reason: Just an update
More than one. That wasnt the whole story... When people look at you and say something like..." I just rode on brand X over there and this thing blows it away. I had some serious players in marketing, motor manufacturing, media, on the boat and they all were very high on what they saw.

Success wasnt solely related to sales....
I had said on an earlier thread you would sell the last hull made, and have orders for 2 more. You told me that hull was already sold, and based on your response, I may have guessed light.
Build a better mousetrap, and they will beat a path to your door.
Hope you have the welcome mat out.....
Billy, i'm curious about the ride of the F33; will the plug boat be significantly lighter than the cold mold boat and the ride change much?
I know with mono hull boats, weight is an important factor for helping to create a smoother ride, but with a cat having much skinnier hulls for a much sharper entry and generally a smoother ride, will a lighter cat see a significantly poorer ride?

We are actually striving to keep the molded boat as light as the current models. Cold molding is very light and very strong.
I wouldn't be suprised if the cold molded boats are lighter than the fiberglass ones.
We think we can match the weight. We dont want to exceed it though. Right now with the 350's we still get 61-62mph with 2 people and 350 gallons of fuel.
If we do go over slightly with weight, the performance shouldnt suffer too much.
I have some questions out of curiosity. Please do not take any of them as throwing stones, just honest curiosity. The boat does look great.
First, coaming bolsters are not absolutely required as you know. They are nice but require more maintenance and cost.
Questions. The coffin is very nice molded in as it is but it looks a little short for long fish like wahoo. Is there a longer fish box in the floor somewhere? A nice 50 lb wahoo is approaching 50" and it is hard to tell how long that coffin is.
Second, how high, or low, is the transom? I have a 31' Cape Horn and the transom is low on my boat so, again, not throwing stones. If yours is as low as mine, you adapt to it and fish. Not a big deal. Mine will hit you below the knee.
Good looking boat. Congratulations on the boat show info. Hope it all pans out for you.

The coffin box on the Miami boat had two compartments.... the smaller compartment was 16" x 32" the larger one was 54" x 32" The owner mainly grouper fishes, so he wanted to be able to split them up.
For capt Mike and Capt Billy, the inside was 72" x 32". Mike easily fit a 98lb Wahoo in along with a bunch of other larger fish. I think the pictures must be deceiving.
The transom isn't too low that I know of. The decks drain easily and we have never had any large amount of water come in. Some splashes, but nothing big. I think a door would be nice, but the owner didn't want it.
Thanks for the questions. When you are ready, give us a call. She will make you think twice about getting another monohull.
Here is a fuel burn spreadsheet that the owner in Tampa made up. He is running some Yamaha 23's while the powertechs get matched. They were about 200rpm off.
This is with full 350 gallons of fuel, 2 adults, 150lbs of ice... The economy isn't quite as good as the Powertech 21's, but the cruise speed is a little higher and the top end isnt bad. He is waiting to get the Powertechs back to do a comparison.
Here is a link to Propgods where he tested a Yellowfin 36 with trip 300 Vrods. Very similar performance.
Thanks Bully. I do like the 2 compartment concept except it would make the box too small for what I do(remember, long fish...wahoo). I didn't mean the transom took water, I meant is it too low to lean against and fight a fish? Where does it hit you on the leg when you lean up against it?
I don't doubt it is a great boat. Just more than I want. I am very satisfied with 31' of CC and twin 250's. Your boat is ALOT to trailer if you trailer and I just don't want 350's. You know, trade offs to everything. Keep it going and good luck to you.
