I just finished up a fishing trip on hull number one with Capt Mike Ellis. I have fished with him before on the GB he used to have.
Let me tell you guys that this boat is as advertised. Bar none this is the baddest 33 ft fishing boat on the planet. I have been offshore fishing for 25 years on all kinds of boats including my own and all I can say was WOW. We had absolutely snotty conditions on Friday trying to beat out a front which caught up with us by the end of the day. I was blown away by the stability of this boat absolutely floored. NO snap roll NO violent rolls. I cannot say enough good things about this boat. And the ride outstanding we were making 25-28 knots in unbeilievable seas!!
If I had the coin this would be my next boat. I have no dog in this fight I don't even know who builds these things except for the guys last name is Freeman.

Rarely do I come across a product that does what it says it does! My compliments to the builder. Anyone considering one of these boats for their new rig you won't be making a mistake.

Anyone who wants to fish Venice. I highly recomend Mike Ellis. This guy worked his ass of for us in some really tough conditions. Plus he a generally just a great person to be around. I feel fortunate to have fished and met this Capt.
I can't wait to go back to Venice. Luckily I have a project to do down there so I will be going back.

BTW Mike if you want to shoot a deer you have an open invitation

Mike is a great captain! I fished with him in September! My friend and I had a great time! Loved the boat too! That Freeman 33 was very comfortable cruising in excess of 40MPH for what had to be 50-60 miles. I too was very impressed!

I have been very slack with the update photos...... sorry about that.

We have the console, coffin box, and leaning post in the boat. The ttop fab guy is in the shop this week making legs for the hardtop. Once we get the cap on, I will start sending in more photos.

We will be starting another hull this weekend for Capt Kevin Beach of the Mexican Gulf Fishing Company in Venice, la. Kevin will hopefully be getting on some primetime TV fishing shows.

A long time coming.... we are almost done with this hull. Most of the rigging is done. Motors will go on next week and hopefully will be in the water the first week of January. I will post better pics as the boat is finished.

Upfront is more, power steering is required, my guess is that service and possibly parts are more, insurance would be more due to the speed and although I know they can be pretty fuel efficient, there is no way you can convince me that I can add alot more weight and 200 more hp and get better fuel economy...so I would be burning more fuel.

For the application of your boat, my F250's would probably not be the right combination. It looks to me like the F350's are really an ideal power plant for your boat.

I am not sure if you saw my final question about the express boat you drew. Any plans for it? It sure was "perty".
Yamaha is coming out with a super lite V-6 350 that is a WHOLE lot lighter!!! They are redoing several other engines to make them lighter as well. I think I saw the info on this in Marlin Magazine or Sportfish Magazine......

Marc Googer at Carolina Custom Rigging did the pipework. I don't have time to do pipework anymore.

Awesome Billy. You've gone a long way in fixing the "cats are ugly" problem.

I don't see what all of the big fuss is about.....boat has curtains all of the way to the transom and is being held together by a bunch of blue tape.......

Is the first molded boat heading to Venice as well, would love to do a tuna trip in that one!

The boat is heading to Venice/Beaumont, TX. You wont be getting a chartered trip in this on. It is owned by a private individual. He may take you fishing though!

I have heard and read nothing but good about the 33 Billy. Looks like you kept the things I like about a cat and have seriously put a dent in what I don't like about them.
