Billy,
Looking good Billy Ray.Just kidding, had to do it!Have you got a real world weight on the hull yet? That has got to be a really good feeling, seeing the first born come out of the mold.I still wish you would get a better camera. She sure is sweet.

Nice work, yet you should consider getting a better camera for your postings...the one your using leaves much to be desired.

We have been busy working on the plug for the cap. I will try to post some pics when I get back from vacation. We are in Key West with hull #3 and the owner. I forget how awesome these boats ride.

Ok, now you are not only going to have to post some progress pics when you get back but some bloodydeck pics on hull #3 too.

I fished on Capt. Mike Ellis's boat out of Venice LA. The boat is a awesome piece of work. Where the fit and finish is concerned it is extremely well done. The boat handled the conditions well with a near limit of yellow fin for 6 guys and a few snapper. My only thought is when the coffin box is loaded up, the boat tends to run flat. Never the less still cuts thru most conditions a mono hull would have to back off in. Capt Mike's boat,I think is hull #2, he does an excellent job keeping her new. The boat is as fine of boat as there is in Cypress Cove (Venice LA)

Default Awesome BOAT

I fished on Capt Mike Ellis's boat out of Cypress Cove Marina, in Venice LA. The boat did very well in the morning conditions of 4' / 5' with an ocassional 6 footer mixed up in there. The only thought I had was when the coffin box was loaded with a near limit of yellow fin for 6 guys as well as a bunch of snapper, the boat ran flat. It seemed to track well and cut through all that was encounterd running back. We ran in conditions at least in the a.m. where most mono hulls would have had to cut back on the power, or the crew would have been, simply, uncomfortable. It is a fine looking as well as a comfortable riding boat. The fit and finish of Capt Mike's boat was as good as any high end boat out there. If I am not mistaken Mike's boat is hull # 2, and is a perfect example of what real marine construction should exibit. The quality of construction as well as the mind set of the builder is very obvious when one looks at the completed boat. Keep up the good work. The boating industry needs the likes of your Freeman. It should attract buyers of integrity, looking for and willing to reward there self with integrity. Thanks.

Spent last week in Key West lobstering the mini season. We ended up with 60 the first day and 30 the second. We had 10 adults on board.... most of them being novice lobsters. What a week.

Bully ,You might not know, but you are only allowed to get 6 per person per day, this always bother me, last few years they used to have a check point at the truck scales in Plantation Key checking the limits of bugs per people in the towing vehicles ,I didn't see that happening this year.

You make one hell of a boat.

We were allowed 6 per person per day, correct? We had 10 adults on board. 10x6=60. We could have taken another limit if we wanted to be renegades. I thought 60 was plenty. The second day we could have taken another limit, but we quit and wanted to go enjoy the day on Ballast key.

I agree with you though, there are plenty that far exceed the limit.

I guess i didn't explain my self good enough ,I wasn't criticizing bully ,I was kind of warning him , that in the past people have been arrested for carrying more lobster than they were allowed to have in their vehicles ,even that the mini season is for two days if you were caught with 12 bugs per person you would get ticketed ,I hope that clarified my post.

and Gulf Girl your guess is wrong, as a matter of fact I'm pretty good at math........

Wow,

How do they expect you to get home? What if most of your crew flew in and you were taking the catch home in the pickup? Something to think about for sure. Thanks.

Bully they didn't do it this year ,I'm sure there has been many complaints about this ,and with the economy the way it is ,they (government) need as many of you guys expending money here as possible ,so my guess is they left good enough along this time.

See Bully the US1 here in the Keys is a big money maker for the county, if you ever get a ticket here ,don't waste your time going to court ,you'll never win , my wife has been living here for 20 years and thats when she got her license ,well last year at the end of Bahia Honda bridge south bound she got a ticket for going 75 on a 55 mph zone ,this is a well known check point in the area (ask any local)this was her first violation ever which she wasn't doing at all ,we went to court ,the judge picked up her record and showed it to every body as a good standing record ,by this time I'm saying to my self we are going home free ,I was wrong , she didn't get points to her license nor paid court fees ,but she had to pay the fine, any where else it would have been dismissed, just so every one reading have an idea .

When you come to the Keys please obey the posted speed limit ,don't give this clowns a chance to make any money on something you are not going to enjoy But keep coming we really appreciate your visit.

Eddy
