Thats why it looks the same now as it did in April.

If you were going to do the sportfish deck then the electric motors would be easiest. Easy to get it running, nice slow starts and reverse and it will be quiet.

But if you decide to go gas then you could do a pair of smaller 26cc engines with a clutch like in my RC boat on page one. The biggest problem with gas engines would be getting them both started then getting the deck attached and the boat in the water before the engines over heat. But if you get good at starting them you can do it right in the water. The clutch will allow the engine to rev slightly before enguaging the prop.

You wouldn't need very powerful engines either, to keep the boat to scale in speed 20 MPH should be fast enough. You could also put mufflers and dump the exhaust below the waterline to keep it quiet. For the running gear you could use some true looking straight shaft inboards with brass props and rudders.

They even make little nav lights and spinnng radar. My mind is running wild with your project.

I accept with information:a jetski motor wouldn't be that much weight and there should be enought room under the floor boards if you used a jackshaft, mounting the motor in the console or cabin.

Too much vibration with a jet ski motor.

Who are you getting your props from? I am going with a Side power 4 blade bow thruster prop.

Throw a pair of wren turbines in there for power

Won't be realistic at all, but definitely cool!

please do your research on the lipo batteries.. the lipo discharge rates are worlds above the nimh batteries but as always that comes with some risks. make sure you have low voltage cut-off and the best charger you can get! low discharge and or overchage can kill the batteries and makes them extremly likely to explode!.

im not telling you not to use lipo's! i would and those neu motors need it im just saying becareful with your awesome rc boat!

What about a couple weedeater motors? Check this link out. You could adopt it to your use.
