This is my golden Retriever Miller.
The first two are at 3 months right after I got him,
and the last two are this past hunting season when he is a year old and picking up my ducks.
The lab in the last two is my cousin's dog Murphy, she is 1 1/2 and a retrieving fool.
Here's my dog... He's a 6 year old Dutch Shepherd named "Kars."
This is from a public demo we did for Animal Planet... Unfortunately, my wife was a little slow with the camera and didn't get a shot of him launching towards the window.......
And here he is in his favorite place in the house...

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog!

Hey Ed, my neighbor just got one of those dogs. His girfriend lives in Praug and he got the dog from over there last month. Its a puppy, maybe about 40 pounds.
I feel sorry for anyone that breaks into his house or back yard. The Dutch Shepherd is in the house and he has 2 Bull Mastifs in the back yard.
This is our girl, Ladybug, usually it's just "Bug". She led a sheltered life until we saw her at our local HALO shelter and she adopted us! Those folks said she is a "Nova Scotian duck tolling retreiver". She is just over a year old, 47 lbs. She is alert, loves the water, loves to run and fetch.
For those of you that take your dogs on your boats and let them hop in the water for a swim, how do you get them back in the boat?
I have scooped the Jack Russells (as many as 3) up in a large-hooped fishing net...and the Lab comes to the swim-platform, gets her front paws on and a good grab-and-lever (grab behind the head on the upper neck) hoists them aboard pretty good...once you get them supported behind their head, they seem to know what to do from there...usually when the dogs are in the water, the boat is on a beach, so knee-deep water and not too difficult...
However if you really love your dog like I do, you should be prepared to go into the water (shallow or deep) as a last resort in case they get in trouble...also be aware of what critters inhabit the waters you choose to doggy-dip in...sharks and gators see our beloved pets as their next meal...imagine seeing your dog dragged under in a bloody struggle to survive..it has happened to people I know and it's not pleasant...
This is Bauer and Dakota. Bauer is a Mini Schnauzer and Dakota is a Cocker Spaniel. Bauer has got to be one of the coolest dog breeds I have ever been around. And Dakota.... well she is turning into a typical, cranky, old lady.
