Sometimes she thinks she is a cat. She does do her business outside too, but it is great knowing that she will use her box if no one is home to walk her or let her out in the yard.

It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog!
REAL benefit could be on a boat. Ever have a dog that just won't go on the boat, even if you tell it over and over that it's ok....so then you gotta start lookin for a place for the stupid animal to pee? Litter box trained would be a hell of a lot easier. I have known some cruising sailors who have been able to train theirs that way.

Jack doesn't pee on the boat (for which I'm grateful) and apparently he doesn't pee in the water either. I wasn't sure if he would go in the water when I first bought my boat.... but after our first few times out on the water (for about 6 -8 hours at a time) when we would dock he would jump off the boat and NOT pee on the dock... but as soon as he got 4 paws off the dock he would pee for a solid 60-90 seconds.... I knew then that he was not peeing in the water... DAMMIT! So now I make sure when we are out for a day... I pull up to beach every 4 hours to let him potty. He's still new at the whole boating thing... I'm hoping one day he will learn to pee in water like the rest of us
