Nice dogs. Some of them can be pretty determined. They make you wonder if they know where they are going when riding in cars or boats? Does the landscape look familiar to them? Do they know when they are getting back close to home? Its pretty amazing what they do know. I was riding down the interstate one day. I was eating a bag of chips. A car came up riding beside me for a ways. There were 3 dogs in that car. They knew I was eating a bag of chips too. They were like, throw me one, damn driver slow down, that dude has chips over in that car. They wouldn't take their eyes off me. The little one kept looking back after the car passed me, just to make sure I was still there and maybe there was an inkling of a chance he may get a potato chip. The one in the front seat sat there like the driver with not a care in the world.......lol
Good news about Missy. She came home yesterday. The Vets think she will recover, but at this point she is still unable to stand or walk. She is getting stronger every day now. Anyway,I had built this craddle/sling to get her off the floor.
It is full adjustable. My daughter and a few other Vets had treated her and at first,my wife and I didn't have much hope that Missy would recover. The people that worked on her was just unreal. I think Missy had better service that I had ever had when it came to a med problem. That had dropped everything that they were doing at 6:30 pm on a sunday and was waiting for my wife to bring Missy at there office. We live about 10 mins from there office and I know that they live over 15 mins away from there office. Ain't that something?
Well,Missy still needs 24 hour care. So the wife and I are taking shifts to meet that. She is eating good, should be in no pain and getting whatever she needs.

Prockvoan...glad to see Missy doing well...lucky dog to recieve that level of care...
Have ya taken any measures to prevent her getting hit again?...I know it's tough sometimes and they get out when they'er not supposed to...two of my three leapt outta the boat (on the trailer) while going across a very busy parking lot at the ramp at Lake Jocassee yesterday...
But I think sometimes we blame the driver for hitting our dogs when really it's our fault for not protecting them from harm.
Keep us posted on her recovery...KUDOS to your daughter and the team that worked on Missy...
Our newest addition, "Red Girl" aka Zouga, last picture fast forward a few months and you get a circus, since then we've added another Yorkie to the bunch just so that life doesn't get boring in our house

Yes,feel very bad about not keeping my dogs off the road. I live on a dead end street way back from anything. Well, all it took was one @ss driving were they shouldn't be(privite road) and hauling @ss. What really got me going was they didn't stop to help or just blow there horn. Yesterday and today,I took the time to get the electric fence up and running. I had to order new batterys for there collars.
Anyway,Missy is doing great. I had her outside early before it got to hot(91 drg right now at noon time) . She got up and walked about 15' before she hit the grass. She is very weak still, but there is hope.
Good luck with it. Glad to see she is OK. I live near the LSU lakes in BR and my male always seems to figure a way to get out of a fenced yard ( and once out of the house) to go to the lake....I'm still not sure if he is there to swim or fraternize with the ladies. Here is a picture of my two after a long weekend at the camp...
Jack is indeed a handsome specimen, and his doggles are cool. But, I gotta tell you, now I know he's got a female owner, apparently, and we gotta cut him some slack for that, but his Mandog Card is in serious danger of revocation as long as he's wearing that collar. That pink/lavender is WAY too gay for a bad boy like that....unless he's a Rainbow Dog. Can't really see his claws very well in the pix; hope they aren't painted to match the collar.

You can tell in the first pic, he's not happy about it.
