Default story of boat w/ dishwasher

okay here goes i am a hunt and peck typer but i will do my best. back in december of 20004 i took my boat a, 27' shamrock out for one last ride of the season. i boat on the south shore of long island near wantagh ny all the floating channel markers had been removed for the season, while attempting to stay in the channel at some point i went aground. the tide of course was falling and my boat which draws almost 3' of water has its lowest point amidship in the belly. the boat was resting softly on the bottom i called boat us and they promptly sent a boat to assist me. the boat us captain arrived within the hour and was able to tow me back into the channel. at that point iassured him that i could make it back to my marina located nearby in merrick ny, on my own. he told me he would follow me for a while to make sure i would have no more problems. as i headed north in the channel alongside the wantagh parkway i approached the first wantagh bridge i was on the right side of the channel in about 6' of water when the boat went from about 20 mph to a dead stop in 2 boat lenghts (54'). after checking to make sure the bottom of the boat was still attached and i was not taking on any water i determined that what ever i hit i could not go forward or in reverse. luckly the boat us captain was nearby and he towed me to my boat yard. the next day i received a call from the owner of the boatyard who told me to come down and bring a camera. the picture is what i saw when i got there. the good news is when the boatyard owner kicked the dishwasher it came loose and the total damage was some scratches on the bottom paint. the best we could determine was someone had probably thrown the dishwasher off the bridge to save a ride to the dump. a sidebar to this story while at the boatyard waiting for the boss a man came up to me and asked me what was this thing feeling a little humous i said it was a shamrock boat when he pointed to the dishwasher i said its a dishwasher all shamrocks come with one. we had a good laugh. when the boatyard owner came over and introduced us to each other i was embarassed all over again when being a big yankee fan he introduced me to his friend joe pepitone. i told you it was a long story

Hey...Joe Pepitone once gave me a baseball at Fenway Park! Being a Red Sox fan and a Yankee hater he's still a "good Joe" in my book!

Interesting story and I am glad you didn't have any serious damage. It could have been much worse with more headaches!
