thank you for the post, love the races, more for the beer and bikinis but the races are great. The first time I went was at least 20 years ago and the track was almost in the city limits.

Where do they have them now? Didn't they develop the Florida Sports Park?

lol yes i think about 15 years ago they moved from Radio rd. to 951 to the sportspark.
My office is only local people, born and raised and we have been sitting here talking about the good old days of the races. before the man stopped all the fun, we used to drink behind the park and watch the races from our buggys. It was a blast, great place to learn how to chug a beer are land a right hook

Nope, the sports park is still there. The sippy hole was a lot deeper this year. The slow buggies had to re-start the final heat 3 times because they kept flipping over.

yup originally the park was between airport and livingston (long before livingston was more than the road from golden gate to wyndemere) and let me promise you this was when that was WAY OUTTA TOWN

They are cool, watched them on TV a few times. The mud reminds me of a few years at Watkins Glen watching Formula 1 cars years ago. Was a wild time! All ya needed was one rain storm and you usually got it.

Dennis Anderson, who runs Grave Digger, has opened a motor sports park in NE NC. The website is : http://dennisandersonsmotorsportspark.com/index_2.html

They have been having an event just about every month.
