Default Great Cod Trip Saturday before the storm

I ran 30 miles to try and find a Tuna Saturday. No bites but stopped for Cod in 330 feet of water and killed them. We filled a cooler with fish up to 36". Fun day considering the weather.

Pretty far south and east of Chatham. We did find them out front in 110 feet as well but they were smaller.

Somebody's going to dope slap me for this, but...

I'd rather have a mess of fried cod than tuna any day.

We have a freshwater cod up here (aka eelpout or burbot) that most folks are repulsed by. They are danged good eating.

No Pollock. I rarely find them although I do love to catch them. I too love eating Cod. I could eat it every day. We were a few miles north of the Sword using Jigs. It seemed like they could be caught on anything that would sink fast enough to reach them. Fishing 300 feet in wind gusting 25 is a chore.
