Does it get painted? Or at least polished a bit??
It will get cleaned up and a coat of Nylac on it. This will protect it for several years and have a semi shinny look, but not like a High polished mirror.
Re: The birth of a Plate Alloy Offshore Monster - 34 Rock Salt
The first Rock Salt will be bead blasted on the outside and finished/painted on the inside. Bead blasting will give the outside a consistent finish. Not shiny like the Pacific's though. With bead blasting you can bring the finish up or down however you want. The RockSalt has a lot of curves, parts, and pieces that a Pacific doesn't have. its actually rare that a boat can be assembled like a Pacific and not need to be grinded anywhere. Due to the complex construction of the Rocksalt it is not possible to build one without any grinding. So this is why all metal surfaces will be bead blasted, painted, or finished to some degree. And as Warthog say, Nyalic will be applied to the outside. Think of this as a sort of clear coat.

She's been holed up in the shop having all the goodies bolted on (electronics, pumps, etc). It should be showing itself again soon. I'm going to TX as soon as its ready to check it out with a customer. The interest in this thing has been through the roof. One of my FLW Tour customers in TX went to see it and said it is bada$$. I can't wait to get down there.

Great looking rig....last boat you will ever need! I have to say I have really considered one in the future. I am a cat guy but the utility of that boat is undeniable. Cat alloys are just too much $. I even thought about alloy Sunday grouper fishing when the action was hot and 16 oz weights were flying everywhere. When you price out a new Worldcat 33, Freeman 33 or the RS34 it is pretty comparable in the long run.....and no maintenance except electronics and hardware forever. The initial cost difference would probably sway me when the time comes...especially since you can get used boats at such good prices now. Still a very fine looking platform.

DAMN that thing is pretty with that finish. Just happened to be reading this thread when you posted the new pix. Is the interior finished? If so, howz about some more pix?
(Never mind about the interior....just took a closer look at the transom pic.)
RE: The birth of a Plate Alloy Offshore Monster - 34 Rock Salt
My oh my oh my (drooling...) Jay from Rocksalt just sent me the latest pics of the boat that is going to be in the Miami Show. Hopefully I'm not letting the cat out of the bag here. I don't care who you are, this is one boat that will turn heads. I'll let the pics do the talking. Congratulations Jay! Unbelievable really, to turn metal into this beautiful vessel.
