That's a great hull. A true classic worthy of all your hard work. Super job.

Yeah I have been lucky with the shop, I wish I had one a little bigger. When I started my brother-in-law was letting me use his shop, but he rented out during the process so I had to move it to another shop. His shop was about 60x150 which was really nice, The one I have now is about a 30x40 which is a little cramped in comparison. But it is nice having.

So how is your formula coming along? The progress you have been making looks great, keep waiting to see more, that thing is going to be sweet!

Okay with a little help from:

and a little more

We were able to get the steering back in. This is a mock type setup becaue we still have to add the gauges. We started putting the throttle controls, but it was cold and the cables just came in today. Going with the teleflex xtreme as suggested by warthog. So controls were roughed. Anyhow we were happy with the outcome, we have also been dealing with John at foursons and that place is just awesome, can't say enough good things about him. With the helm angled the wheel almost sita parrallel with the floor at full tilt, really pleased with the set-up. Oh yeah the steering wheel was obviously a cheaper wheel and the nut that came for it was either tapped with a dull tap, or the wrong one. If anyone has a stainless nut for a 1/2-20 thread they don't need, let me know. Otherwise I can probably make this one work, I just hate working with stainless with out mills and lathes.

Did you put some glass over the plywood before you painted it along the helm?

Yes, I did it only to seal the wood. I also am using silicone for the holes.

I am not a boat builder and really don't have any experience with this type of thing, so it has been a lot of learning. I could have probably done a few things differently, but I am satisfied thus far. But I have had some help and advise from some on this forum, and everbody I have contacted has been really nice and gotten back with me, it is much appreciated. I really can't wait to get it running and on the water.

Your boat is looking great, and you are making good progress. Really nice you are doing the project together.

Thanks for the link kitebuz. I had problems finding them through a search engine. Thanks for the nice word too, she really enjoys helping me with it, so much that for christmas she is getting; steering cable, throttle cables, and some gauges. I think she will be really excited .

They are teleflex, I believe they are called premium white face. Looked at the faria gauges as well, ended up with these because they offer thru dial lighting and not just the perimeter lighting.

Yeah, I have been working on this one today. I couldn't wait to start, now I just want ot get it done. This being my first boat I have had to work on has been an experience, I feel like if I had it to do again it would go a lot faster. Good luck with yours and post some pictures when you get a chance. Lots of good people on this forum that can help you with questions and advice.
