They must have been teaching the new guy about trim tabs on the QE. The first pic shows tabs down and the second shows tabs up. And on the the up side they can see that the bottom paint is working the hull looks clean.
After spending a year living in England in '68-'69, while my Dad went to school, we took the QE II back from South Hampton to New York- Hit a Hurricane of Nova Scotia, at the ripe old age of 5, I can still remember the "hurl fest".
Few years back I was on a cruisefrom Boston toBermuda,we hit heavy weather and it almost all the passengers were walking around with change cups from the casino. There was no change in the cups!
That's crazy - I'm sure there were some sick passengers on those boats! On our last cruise there were people getting sick with 10 foot swells as we rouned the tip of Cuba.
I just noticed the Carnival ship is the ecstasy - We're cruising on the Ecstasy in about a week... Can't wait to get away from it all!

Great pics! A couple years ago I was on a cruise to the bahamas and hit seas in the straits of florida around 15'. I know they get a lot bigger than that and most would say that isn't much but it certainly moved the ship! I would hate to be out in the those kinda seas in a small boat.
I went on a Carnival cruise for my honeymoon. The last night the ship went into a storm and I swear the seas had to be 40 feet or more. The whole ship would rumble as it hit every wave, people were bouncing from wall to wall in the hall ways. The shit was falling off the all night buffet. The tables and chairs were sliding all over the decks.
I was having a great time but there were a lot of people walking around with life jackets on scared out of their minds. The captain kept coming on the PA telling everyone that there was nothing to worry about but a lot of passengers weren't buying it.
I had a balcony cabin pretty high up about mid ship and the spray from the bow crashing the waves was going higher than my balcony.
I was on a Carnival ship during a tropical storm two years ago, seas had to be 40-50 feet and my guess on the wind speed was 75+. Some guy blew his dinner at the table beside us. I walked to the bow and laughed with the co-captain at the hurlers
I was on the Norweigan Dawn coming home from Bermuda last August. First there was a sickness that spread throughout the ship and quarantined about 40-50 people on the ship. My 9 year old and I were laid up the last night throwing up from the food poison. No one was allowed to touch the serving trays, the staff had to serve you at the buffets. Then we hit high seas and it was a rough ride. I like when the seas get rough, watching the sea spray over the bow on th CCTV in the room. When we got home my wife and 15 year old got sick. I contacted the CDC and told them about what happened. Turns out that the cruise line did not report the event even though it made the Bermudian newspapers. I do remember the railings covered in salt. I love watching the waves hit the boat. I would not recommend Norweigan, the cruise sucked, in fact it was so bad it became comical and we laughed because it was so bad it became absurd and everytime we thought it couldn't get worse it did. Bermuda though is beautiful and fun to visit. I would recommend Celebrity Cruises, I have taken both and there is no comparison.

That is interesting. We just finished a cruse on the Norwegian Jem, and had a great time
