Default "When I say it's safe to surf this beach, it's safe to surf this beach!"

Got to do some laps around the pool the other day with my brother. This is what we came up with. Me on the backside, getting ready to shred that tiny little wake the boat makes;

Cutting hard off the wake;

Then it was my brothers turn. He surfs all winter long up here, he is one of those crazy ones for sure!

Way outside, as outside as we can get;

Then all of a sudden, one time, I wipeout hard, for no real reason. Felt like I hit something in the water and it stopped me short, not expecting it really surprised me. Somehow the the bottom delaminated and took the back end off the board. We suspect one of the dings in the bottom got water under it and ripped the bottom off;

WIPEOUT!

We had to switch to the kneeboard and the wakeboard, which are fun, but to me, nothing is more fun than surfing the eternal wave. This was a 6'3" Al Merrick, we went out and bought a 5'9" Al Merrick to replace the broken board and the shorter/narrower board cuts so much harder than the 6'3" so we're happier now.

Cool, but now you need to add some weight and slow that boat down, and get rid of the rope! heres a wakeboard boat, weighted, the true endless wake:

I started wake boarding and wake surfing long before there was a true sport. In the mid 80's I rode a 6'2" tri fin behind a 16' CC, and used an old kneeboard that we drilled two U bolts through to make foot straps. We finally came across a skurfer and the rest was history.

would that work behind a downeast lobster boat? I got a 9'6" Saber long board with 2 thruster fins. Tunnel drive boats can kick up some nasty wakes at no wake speeds. Ever seen tanker/frieghter surfing off Texas?

its an inboard. prop is about 1 foot in from stern of the boat. you do have to watch out on falls for the board coming up and hitting the stern of the boat, but usually doesn't happen.

I always see you walking around up at Green Harbor in the p-lot. I will stop and talk next time I see you. I drive by there when ever working in the area.
