Cool oven you built. Watch out, you might be getting call from Boeing:
Great looking hull - very sharp dockside pic too. Looking forward to seeing some interior shots. Will there be a windshield & leaning post?
Is the top cap all one mold, or did you do the boxes in components & add on? Would be cool to see some of the molding details from the deck - looks like you are using kevlar thru-out. Really impressive build.
The deck is all one piece, no secondary bonding, all prepreg sprint system. All the compartments are finished from the underside. The deck and hull are joined together without any screws or bolts, all epoxy composite, this is not a shoe boxfit, rather a male/female overlay. The hull is two layers of pure Kevlar on the outersidesand five layers of carbon fiber, all prepreg epoxy cured at 205 degrees, under full vacuum.
No, you're right...depending on the size of the tower we do expect to see some decrease in speed. That being said, the boat hasn't been fine tuned and it was the first run with the first set of props. Eddie at Stewart Propeller is presently reducing the size of the rudders.
And thanks for the remark about the "original Predators". I have followed your postings over the past years and respect your opinion and appreciate the compliment, Predator wasmy first born but I've learned a lot since then. If you're ever in Sarasota I'd love to give you a ride on the boat.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm surprised you went through the cost of casting your struts considering your production goals, very nice. I've only seen that rudder design on late model vikings, would you mind explaining the benefits of that blade form?
M.E.K.
The casting was done to reduce the width of the strut, to reduce drag, it is made of a very high strength nickle compound, it is stronger than stainless. The rudders are designed by Eddie at Stuart Propeller, it is based on the same theory as the ones used by American Custom Yachts and Viking. The top of the trailing edge reduces the possibility of venting at high speed, these rudders work very well.
Sweet! I was wondering when Carbon hulls have made it to sportfishing, glad you did it. Having sailed with Carbon fiber, how is the vibration with the motors? Also- is there any consideration given to through deck screws and the promotion of rust. We couldn't keep screws in a carbon mast from rusting quickly, did not know if that was a carbon and stainless thing or not. That stuff does not give much, tough as nails. Ignore the haters, great boat, great setup!
I had the opportunity to check this boat out in its first stages at the show..Beautiful boat..and what impressed me the most is how it was made..It doesnt get any better..awesome technology..
Magnificent boat, the new standard once finished. Please continue to post pictures and provide us with final numbers and price. I was about to buy a PREDATOR, but I will kind of wait and see how this magic craft unveils. My only concern with expresses is the possibility of being bow light. I am sure you have taken the necessary provisions. My compliments and best of luck with such a beautiful project. We are all anxious to see the final product.
I assume there will be a tower and enclosure similar to a Predator so it will not feel like you can "fall" out of the boat. It might look that way in the picture but probably won't be an issue when all is finished.
This boat is a true work of art and probably pushing the envelope of technological design, that being said how is it going to hand rough water being built so light, I guess with the ability to carry more fuel due to the reduction in weight from build material it would almost be like ballasting, I'd like to see some comfortable cruise numbers loaded to the gills in a tight 4-6 with a nasty wind chop thrown in the mix. The lines of this boat are true head turners, I can't wait to see this thing fully rigged and some video of it burning it up...... also Scott what does one of those QC3 cummins and gear box weigh?? It seems like the power to weight ratio is through the roof, Again Congratulations on an awesome ride.........
